What consumes your mind controls your life is a philosophical concept
that is extremely pertinent to our everyday lives. It essentially speaks
to the power of thought, and how our thoughts can have a profound impact
upon our lives. Every thought we think has the power to shape not just the
way we live, but also who we become in the process. If we focus on thoughts
of joy, peace and abundance, then our lives will reflect those same positive
qualities. Conversely, if we fill our minds with negative emotions and beliefs,
then this negativity will carry over into all aspects of our lives manifested in
various forms such as sadness, illness or anxiety, depression.
In order for us to truly be free and make decisions that are aligned with our highest potentials, I’m not trying to sound like some eastern philosopher by saying our highest potential what I mean to say is that to reach our goals. we must be able to take control of our thoughts. We need to be aware of what it is that we are thinking about so that we can put an end to any self-destructive thought patterns before they manifest into something more serious. After all an aimless shot in the dark will remain useless unless we define our target.
That being said, it can be easier said than done given how pervasive and random some thoughts can be; however, by engaging in activities such as deep breathing and taking a while to think, we can begin to gain the mental clarity needed to take back control of our minds.
We are all responsible for what goes on inside of us and in turn how these circumstances manifest externally within our lives. We need to learn how to use the power of thought in order cultivate intentionality when it comes to creating the reality which most aligns with who we are and what we want. After all, it’s only by taking ownership of one’s own mind that allows authentic freedom and personal growth.
Ultimately, what consumes your mind controls your life means that if you want different outcomes in life you must adjust your inner dialogue accordingly to what you wish you want to see.
