Albert Camus; how to live a perfect life

Albert Camus is my favorite philosophers of all time.
Albert camus once said
"Live to the point of tears."
But how can we do that, how can one live to the point of tears after all life is miserable and filled with existential angst, but Camus being Camus he hinted and gaves us a lot of tips on living the perfect life which can be lived to the point of tears. I spent a while reading Camus works and here are a few things i was able to extract from some of his works.

1. Focus On The Small Things

  • The literal meaning of life is doing whatever prevents you from killing yourself
  • "Should i kill myself or have a cup of coffee"
  • By doing small things you prevent yourself from the absurdity of life

2. Just Be Yourself

"Man is the only creature that refuses to be what he is"
  • Because we are wrapped up in people pleasing and trying to fit into society

3. Stop Looking For Happiness and Meaning

  • You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of, you will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.
  • living without appeal
    • to acknowledge that there is nothing else for you to see beyond here and now ( no higher purpose, no God, or no values)
    • Just the ordinary and mundane in everyday existence which is right in front of you in each moment. ( just like Paterson)
  • For if there is a sin against life, it consists perhaps not so much in despairing of life as in hoping for another life and eluding the unstoppable grandeur of this life
  • The biggest sin is not so much hating your life but hoping for another life because in doing so your missing out in the beauty of the life you now have

4. Live With Passion.

Camus thought that the greatness in a person is pulled out of them when they are confronted with challenge. (starting your own business, confronting your lover ) or anything that involves struggling towards a goal. All of those are instances where the best version can grow out of you There is no significant passion like the soul mate Bullshit. But you can be passionate about something (working with computers, lifting, art) Pursuing those things increase your focus and intensity.
